As night falls and you prepare for sleep, does your spirit ever feel as dark as the night sky?
Maybe the day was a dark disappointment, less than productive, leaving you feeling bleak and unfulfilled. Or, maybe it was relatively bright, fulfilling and productive, but suddenly at this very moment as the day ends, you feel a dark shroud of gloom overwhelming you.
Remember, Satan likes to attack our minds and emotions when we’re mentally or physically at low ebb, especially after a busy day. He wants to convince us that there is some kind of impending doom.
This is the time you face man’s age-old decision: Will you allow Satan’s negative “darts” to cause you to look at the worst of the day, letting his manipulations get prime attention, or will you arm yourself, rise up and seek the positive aspects, count the blessings of the day, and choose to reach for the Light?
When we choose to follow the Light of Jesus, we don His special armor, including the shield of faith to defend against Satan’s fiery darts, as mentioned in Ephesians 6:16, to safely travel past the dark spots of each day, without letting Satan trip us up. Jesus promises, I am the Light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12).
When you recognize how much He cares, you needn’t sleep with your spirit feeling as dark and gloomy as your room. Choose to bask instead in spiritual light as you fix your heart to follow your Lord...Pray for me...
