**BREAST CANCER FACTS**

Breast cancer - is one of the most common cancers impacting women not only in the United States but all over the world. In fact, it accounts for more than 1 in 4 cancers diagnosed in females, according to the American Cancer Society. While no one can predict exactly who will develop breast cancer, there are ways to help protect yourself. Read on for specific, simple steps to help lower your breast cancer risk and detect early signs of the disease. Learn more about this disease and what you can do to prevent it. ------Risk Factors----- **Age** Older women face a higher risk of developing breast cancer. From 2000 to 2004, 95 percent of new cases and 97 percent of breast cancer deaths occurred in women 40 or older, according to the ACS. Women between the ages of 75 to 79 are at the highest risk, with an incident rate of nearly 465 cases in every 100,000. **Family history/genetics** Women face a greater threat if their mother, sister or daughter had breast cancer, especially before age 40. And if more than one of those relatives develops the disease, that threat increases. About 5 to 10 percent of breast cancer cases are caused by inherited mutations or alterations in two genes: the BRCA1 and BRCA2. Women with BRCA1 mutations have an 65 percent risk of developing breast cancer by age 70, while those with BRCA2 have a 45 percent increased risk he disease is rare before menopause **Weight** Women who become obese after menopause face a higher risk of developing breast cancer; so do women who gain weight throughout adulthood. Citing a study posted in the Journal of the American Medical Association, the ACS reports that gaining 22 pounds after menopause ups the risk of the disease by 18 percent. And packing on 55 pounds or more after age 18 increases the risk by nearly 1 1/2 times.

**Hormones ** Reproductive hormones are believed to play a factor in breast cancer risk, according to the ACS. Women who have their first menstrual cycle before age 12, start menopause after 55 or have their first pregnancy after 30 face an increased risk. Women who use oral contraceptives face a small increased risk. On the other hand, breast-feeding has been shown to decrease the risk, even more so the longer a woman breast-feeds. Another risk factor is the use of combination hormone replacement therapy, or HRT. This treatment, which is used to prevent osteoporosis and heart disease in postmenopausal women, could increase breast tissue density, making mammograms less effective, thus delaying a possible diagnosis.

**Activity level ** Women who are physically inactive throughout life appear to have an increased risk of breast cancer. Being physically active may help to reduce the risk by preventing weight gain and obesity.

**Alcohol ** Some studies suggest that the more alcoholic beverages a woman drinks, the greater her risk of breast cancer. Just two drinks a day — of any kind of alcohol — could increase risk by 21 percent.

**Race/ethnicity** Caucasian women have a higher incidence than black women after age 40, but black women have a higher incidence rate before age 40 and are more likely to die from the disease at every age. Early detectionFor women considered high risk (20 percent or greater increased risk), an ACS panel recommends mammographs, clinical breast examinations and MRIs. For age 40 and older who have an average risk, the ACS recommends annual mammograms and clinical breast examinations. Women ages 20 to 39 should have a clinical breast exam every three years.

**These are some of common Symtoms** 1.A lump or thickening in or near the breast or in the underarm area. Soft, round, moveable lumps are likely to be benign. Hard, oddly shaped, firmly attached lumps are more likely to be cancerous. 2.Nipple tenderness 3.A change in the size or shape of the breast 4.Nipple turns inward into the breast 5.Skin redness, scaliness 6.Ridges or dimpling like the skin of an orange 7.Fluid discharge

**SHOES FOR PRES. BUSH?**

BAGHDAD (Reuters) – An Iraqi reporter called visiting U.S. President George W. Bush a "dog" in Arabic on Sunday and threw his shoes at him during a news conference in Baghdad. Iraqi security officers and U.S. secret service agents leapt at the man and dragged him struggling and screaming out of the room where Bush was giving a news conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki. The shoes missed their target about 15 feet (4.5 metres) away. One sailed over Bush's head as he stood next to Maliki and smacked into the wall behind him. Bush smiled uncomfortably and Maliki looked strained. "It doesn't bother me," Bush said, urging everyone to calm down as a ruckus broke out in the conference room. When asked about the incident shortly after, Bush made light of it. "I didn't feel the least threatened by it," he said. Other Iraqi journalists apologised on behalf of their colleague, a television journalist. Bush arrived in Baghdad earlier on Sunday on a farewell visit before he leaves office in January. The U.S.-led invasion in 2003 to topple Saddam Hussein triggered years of sectarian bloodshed and insurgency in Iraq, killing tens of thousands.

**WHERE LIFE CAN'T HIDE**

December 12,2008
-- It was a dying on a scale never seen before or since on Earth. The slaughter was everywhere; the fertile ocean and balmy supercontinent Pangea were transformed into killing fields, littered with the bodies of ancient animals. By the time the dust had settled on the Permian-Triassic mass extinction 250 million years ago, 90 percent of life on the planet had been snuffed out. Now a new theory suggests the catastrophe was set in motion 15 million years earlier, deep in the Earth. On the edge of the molten outer core, a plume of super-hot material began rising through the mantle, upsetting convection in the core and throwing the planet's magnetic field into disarray. The weakening of Earth's magnetic field exposed the surface to a shower of cosmic radiation, says Yukio Isozaki of the University of Tokyo. He believes the radiation broke nitrogen in the atmosphere into ions that acted as seeds for clouds enshrouding the planet.
"This would've caused severe cooling and a drop in sea level" as the cool temperatures allowed massive ice sheets to accumulate on the continents, Isozaki said. "If you check the rock record at that time, tropical coral reefs die first. Then you start to see fauna from mid latitudes move into the tropics. It all points to cooling." The superplume disrupted the magnetic field and put a strain on creatures living on the surface, but it was only the beginning. Five million years later it reached the surface, Isozaki said, and the hot material punched through the crust, erupting as three successive supervolcanoes.

**NEW SWEETENER**

Ahhhhh!!!!!! a good smell of coffee every cold morning. But we have to be aware of what kind of sugar were going to use. And I will recommend a good one sugar . Xylitol Crystals .What is Xylitol? is as sweet as sugar without the calories and can be substituted one for one in place of cane sugar. When substituting xylitol for sugar, you just need small amount of it. Xylitol's contain high fiber consuming more than 12 grams in one meal can yield a laxative effect to varying degrees. Its not only for your hot coffee in the morning but this Xylito crystal also can be use in some recipe that need a little taste of sweetness. When substituting xylitol for sugar in some recipes, add more liquid as xylitol doesn't caramelize and can tend it more drier. So you can save more instead of you use more sugar just a small amount of Xylitol's is enough. SO try this new sugar in any food or drinks that needs sweetener.

**STORM**

CONCORD, N.H. – An ice storm knocked out power to more than a million homes and businesses in New England and upstate New York on Friday, and authorities say it could take days for all of them to get service back. The storm brought rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow through the night, and in some areas, including hard-hit New Hampshire, the miserable mix was continuing Friday. The governors of Massachusetts and New Hampshire declared states of emergency Friday morning, and schools were closed and travel disrupted across the region. New Hampshire's court system canceled all hearings and trials for the day. "I urge all New Hampshire citizens to take sensible precautions and heed all warnings from public officials," Gov. John Lynch said. Fire departments were responding to reports of transformer explosions, wires and utility poles down and trees falling on homes. Utility crews were so busy dealing with public safety hazards like live power lines that they weren't immediately able to begin restoration efforts. Utilities reported 392,000 homes and businesses without power in New Hampshire, including 300,000 served by the state's largest utility, Public Service Company of New Hampshire. The outages there far surpassed the infamous ice storm of 1998, when some residents spent more than a week in the dark. In Hampstead, N.H., Mark Cegelis, 36, said things were hectic at his neighborhood gas station, which was jammed with people trying to get gas for home generators. "It's kind of lawless out there right now. There's a lot of people very frustrated, stacking up at the gas stations. It's pretty ugly." He bought 21 gallons for himself and tried to deliver some to some friends in Derry but couldn't get there because of downed trees blocking roads. So his friends came to him instead, and were expected to hunker down until power was restored. Gov. Deval Patrick's emergency declaration in Massachusetts would enable the governor to take further steps, such as mobilizing the National Guard, if needed as the day wore on, officials said. At a midmorning news conference, Patrick said 350,000 customers across the state were without power — and the number had risen 150,000 homes in just an hour. He said it would be "ambitious" to think power would be restored by Monday. "This is not going to be a couple of hours," Patrick said. "It's likely to be several days." In eastern New York, particularly around Albany, the state capital, outages at National Grid and other utilities brought the total in the state to more than 235,000. "Trees were down on all the roads," said Miguel Figueroa, 28, as he waited for coffee at a Starbucks in Colonie, N.Y. "... I couldn't even get on the Thruway today."

**ANOTHER PRIDE OF FILIPINO**

Photobucket LAS VEGAS (AP)—Manny Pacquiao fought a lot bigger than he looked. Oscar De La Hoya simply looked old. Pacquiao dominated his bigger and more famous opponent from the opening bell Saturday night, giving De La Hoya a beating and closing his left eye before De La Hoya declined to come out of his corner after the eighth round. The fight was so lopsided and De La Hoya looked so inept that it could spell the end for boxing’s richest and most marketable star. I enjoy watching it.... CONGRATULATION PACMAN.....WE ARE PROUD OF YOU..

**PROPOSAL TURN TO NIGHTMARE**

Me and my husband just watching ABC-NYC news and this story is one of the headlines. I feel so sorry about it. So i grab my laptop and search to find this headlines so i can share it with friends. Maybe one of you knows her.. Scott Napper, right, traveled to the Philippines to see Leafil Alforque earlier this year. Her family released this photo of the couple, who are pictured in Manila.(Courtesy KATU) A romantic marriage proposal on the Oregon coast turned deadly for the bride-to-be when a wave swept her out to sea. Scott Napper planned to pop the question to Leafil Alforque, 22, a native from Philippines at a spot near Neskowin Beach that got its name from couples ready to marry. Napper said the tide had receded around Proposal Rock on Saturday when the couple began to walk to it. He planned to propose and give her the ring he carried in his pocket. About 10 feet from the rock, a wave around 3 feet high suddenly came toward them. "I turned into it to keep from getting pulled under it," Napper said. By the time he turned to find Alforque, only 4-foot-11 and 93 pounds, she had been caught by the receding waters. "She was about 30 feet away, getting swept away," Napper said. The 45-year-old Silverton man tore off his jacket to get rid of any extra weight, and when he looked up again she was gone. That's the last I saw of her," he said Wednesday, breaking into tears. Emergency personnel called by someone on the beach arrived within minutes. His own phone no longer worked after being exposed to the water. Along with rescuers, he searched for any sign of Alforque. "I yelled for her," he said. "I was praying to God."At one point, he saw someone wearing red — the color of her jacket — on the shore signaling for him. But he quickly realized it was a rescuer. Thick fog and dangerous water conditions hampered the rescue efforts before the search was called off Monday. Napper and Alforque had been dating since they met on the Internet in 2005. Alforque arrived in Oregon on a visa from the Philippines just three days before the fateful trip to the coast. Her 25-year-old sister, Nova Alforque, said the family hopes the body can be recovered. "My mother is always crying, day and night," Nova Alforque said by telephone from the Philippines. "She wants my sister back. Even if she is dead, she wants her body to bury."The Tillamook County Sheriff's Office is checking the beach and looking for possible witnesses, Sheriff Todd Anderson said. Police don't suspect foul play, he said..... ----ITS REALLY SO SAD-------Lets pray for her...

**TAGS**

**ALL ABOUT HEALTH**

I received and email from a friend and it's so interesting how our feet and hand connects to all our body organs. And here it is . The Organs of your body have their sensory touches at the bottom of your foot, if you massage these points you will find relief from aches and pains as you can see the heart is on the left foot. Typically they are shown as points and arrows to show which organ it connects to. It is indeed correct since the nerves connected to these organs terminate here. This is covered in great details in Acupressure studies or textbooks. God created our body so well that he thought of ! even this. He made us walk so that we will always be pressing these pressure points and thus keeping these organs activated at all times. So, keep walking... -OUR BLOOD TYPE REVEAL OUR PERSONALITY- TYPE O You want to be a leader, and when you see something you want, you keep striving until you achieve your goal. You are a trend-setter, loyal, passionate, and self-confident. Your weaknesses include vanity and jealously and a tendency to be too competitive. TYPE A You like harmony, peace and organization. You work well with others, and are sensitive, patient and affectionate. Among your weaknesses are stubbornness and an inability to relax. TYPE B You're a rugged individualist, who's straightforward and likes to do things your own way. Creative and flexible, you adapt easily to any situation. But your insistence on being independent can sometimes go too far and become a weakness. TYPE AB Cool and controlled, you're generally well liked and always put people at ease. You're a natural entertainer who's tactful and fair. But you're standoffish, blunt, and have difficulty making decisions. ... DRINK WATER IN EMPTY STOMACH It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases: Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases. METHOD OF TREATMENT 1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water .....interesting 2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minutes 3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal. 4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours 5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day. 6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life. The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases: 1. High Blood Pressure - 30 days 2. Gastric - 10 days 3. Diabetes - 30 days 4. Constipation - 10 days 5. Cancer - 180 days 6. TB - 90 days 7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards - daily. This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times. It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life. Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active. This makes sense .. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals ..not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain... For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal. A serious note about heart attacks: Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms! . 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive... I HOPE THIS will give everybody some knowledge about our health..

**THE PHONE THAT FEELS THE FLU BEFORE YOU DO**

This is an amazing phone. NEW YORK - Did your parents tell you to remember your scarf when you went out, so you wouldn't catch a cold? Today, the advice might be: Remember your cell phone. A maker of over-the-counter cold and flu remedies released a program this week for the T-Mobile G1, also known as the "Google phone," that warns the user how many people in an area are sneezing and shaking with winter viruses. The "Zicam Cold & Flu Companion" will say, for instance, that 8 percent to 14 percent of the people in your ZIP code have respiratory illnesses, representing a "Moderate" risk level. To give germophobes and hypochondriacs even more of a thrill, it also says what symptoms are common, like coughing and sore throat.Matrixx Initiatives Inc., the Arizona company that makes products under the Zicam brand, gets the information on disease levels from Surveillance Data Inc. — which gets its data from polling health care providers and pharmacies. Users can also ask the application about risk levels in other ZIP codes, so they can steer clear of, for instance, Atlanta, one of the five most infected cities in the nation right now, according to Zicam. The "Companion" is available for free from the Android Marketplace, the repository of downloadable programs for the G1. Later this month, the program will be available for the iPhone, according to Matrixx. Google Inc., which created the G1's operating system, launched its own state-by-state Web-based flu tracker recently. It's based on the number of people plugging flu-related searches into Google's search engine.

**BE PREPARED**

Years ago, a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast. He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic . They dreaded the awful storms that raged across the Atlantic , wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops. As the farmer interviewed applicants for the job, he received A steady stream of refusals. Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached the farmer. "Are you a good farm hand?" the farmer asked him. "Well, I can sleep when the wind blows," answered the little man.Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help, Hired him. The little man worked well around the farm, busy from dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man's work. Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore. Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed next door to the hired hand's sleeping quarters. He shook the little man and yelled, "Get up! A storm is coming! Tie things down before they blow away!" The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, "No sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows."Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to prepare for the storm. To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had been covered with tarpaulins. The cows were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were barred. The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down. Nothing could blow away. The farmer then understood what his hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed to also sleep while the wind blew. ------MORAL LESSON------ When you're prepared, spiritually, mentally, and physically, you have nothing to fear. Can you sleep when the wind blows through your life? The hired hand in the story was able to sleep because he had secured the farm against the storm. We secure ourselves against the storms of life by grounding ourselves in the Word of God. We don't need to understand, we just need to hold His hand to have peace in the middle of storms. I hope you enjoy your day and you sleep well.

**BLACK FRIDAY STAMPEDE**

THIS IS WALMART -nassau county--NY
NEW YORK - A worker trampled to death when customers stormed a Wal-Mart for bargains on the day after Thanksgiving had no experience in crowd control and was placed at the entrance because of his hulking frame, police and a lawyer said Monday. The details about the deadly stampede came out as police pored over video surveillance provided by the store while considering possible criminal charges. Lawyers were also preparing to sue over the episode. Nassau County Police Commissioner Lawrence Mulvey noted that the worker, Jdimytai Damour, was 6 feet 5 and 270 pounds, making the trampling all the more stunning. He was killed when a crowd estimated at 2,000 strong broke down the electronic doors in frantic pursuit of bargains on big-screen TVs, clothing and other items."Literally anyone, those hundreds of people who did make their way into the store, literally had to step over or around him or unfortunately on him to get into the Wal-Mart store," said Mulvey. Mulvey said an autopsy found that Damour, 34, died of asphyxiation related to his trampling, and he conceded that it would be difficult to file criminal charges against any of the shoppers. "It goes beyond identifying specific people to make a case," Mulvey said. "You have to establish recklessness or intent to harm, which led to his death." Attorney Jordan Hecht, who represents Damour's three sisters, said the family declined to make any public statements about the man's death. Funeral arrangements were pending, he said.
------I feel so sorry for the family of the victim.... I remember the big stampede history in the Philippines...THE WOWOWEE stampede...so next time guys be careful... shop online na lang....

**Pelvic Floor Dysfunction**

The pelvic floor muscles line the bottom, front, sides, and back of the pelvis and provide a hammock-like structure that supports the pelvic organs such as the bladder, prostate, uterus, and rectum (see diagram). Besides providing support, they're responsible for the complex relaxing and contracting that enables us to urinate and defecate properly and even enjoy sexual intercourse. These muscles are always interacting with the pelvic organs. For example, urination involves relaxation of these muscles while the bladder contracts. Sometimes, these muscles either spasm or simply don't interact as they should with the pelvic organs. We call this "pelvic floor dysfunction" (PFD).Pelvic floor dysfunction can give rise to lots of uncomfortable sensations and even frank pain. To make matters more complicated, PFD can exist along with problems such as interstitial cystitis, irritable bowel syndrome, prostatitis. fibromyalgia, and others. Pelvic floor dysfunction has lots of other names in the medical literature such as proctalgia fugax, coccygodynia, levator ani syndrome, Hinman's syndrome, tension myalgia of the pelvic floor, and non-neurogenic-neurogenic bladder. The symptoms of PFD may vary greatly depending upon what part of the muscle complex is affected. These may include: *Difficulty initiating the urine stream *Straining with urination *Pain with urination *Starting and stopping of the urine stream *Sensation of incomplete bladder emptying or the sensation of needing to urinate almost
...... immediately after urinating *Pelvic pressure or pain *Frequent daytime voiding *Constipation *Pain with orgasm *Pain with vaginal penetration (superficial and/or deep) *Increased discomfort when sitting for long intervals

**WHY WE CRY?**

For humans, the eyes are more than just windows to the outside world. They are also portals inward, providing others with glimpses into our inner thoughts and feelings. Of all primates, human eyes are the most conspicuous; our eyes see, but they are also meant to be seen. Our colored irises float against backdrops of white and encircle black pupils. This color contrast is not found in the eyes of most apes. According to one idea, called the cooperative eye hypothesis, the distinctive features that help highlight our eyes evolved partly to help us follow each others' gazes when communicating or when cooperating with one another on tasks requiring close contact. Apes versus human

**BE THANKFUL**

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: 'I am blind, please help.' There were only a few coins in the hat. A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words. Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, 'Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?' The man said, 'I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way..' What he had written was: 'Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it.' Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing? Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective? Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively. Invite others towards good with wisdom. Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Great men say, 'Life has to be an incessant process of repair and reconstruction, of discarding evil and developing goodness…. In the journey of life, if you want to travel without fear, you must have the ticket of a good conscience.' The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling… And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!
