As a child, did you ever go to bed hungry? If you did, you know what it's like to have a gnawing sense of being unsatisfied haunt you throughout the night. But when you received physical food, did you still feel like you hadn't had enough? Were you ever satisfied?
Now let's address another kind of hunger and thirst that many of us may have faced...the hunger and thirst for
God. This, too, can gnaw at you in the night. The question is, how do you become filled? Can this hunger for God ever be satisfied?
One reason many of us may be feeling dissatisfied in our spirit is from filling ourselves with the wrong things. Entertainment, overeating, overdrinking, overwork, new relationships and material possessions have all been used to try to fill inner emptiness...but they will never work, for Jesus said: "Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life" The water which will make us continually thirst is the
"water" of the world. Nothing derived from the physical world, self or Satan can ever truly satisfy our spiritual man...only the Spirit of God can do that. Start to spend the time to eat and drink of Him in His Word...and rest contentedly with your spirit filled – and be satisfied!...HAVE JESUS IN OUR LIVES AND WE WILL NEVER BE UNSATISFIED..
