When it comes to holiday travel plans, good things may come to those who waited.
The major U.S. airlines have cut many fares for the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons.
The airlines, in the midst of their worst year since at least 2005, may see the price-cutting as necessary in the face of a slumping economy that could cut into both leisure and business travel. Airfare experts say they typically don't see this kind of price-cutting until the last couple of weeks before big holidays.
Northwest Airlines started the rush Tuesday night with a broad holiday fare sale, and most other major carriers matched the prices Wednesday, according to Rick Seaney, chief executive of the travel Web site FareCompare.com.
"It's by far the most broad-based fare sale we've tracked in at least 18 months," Seaney said Thursday, "and this is the earliest I've ever seen one."
Tom Parsons, chief executive of discount travel site Bestfares.com, said in many cases travelers can still find better deals by shopping around and considering alternate airports.
I wish that we can fly on our thanks giving and Christmas holidays to new york city(in laws) but my husband prefer to drive 11 hours and it's grrrrr for me.

RECYCLED GOLD!!
Historically, gold has always been treasured for its ornamental value, but most recently, its uses have expanded. Because of its electrical conductivity and resistance to corrosion, gold has become necessary for industrial uses also. From jewelry to computers to air crafts, the need for gold continues to grow. The problem is demand for metals is increasing at a faster pace than the mining industry can supply. Mined gold and gold in banks only lasts so long. Precious metal recycling makes up the gap between growing demand and decreasing supply. The current high precious metals prices, combined with the economic downturn, has led to a dramatic increase in the number of people wanting to cash in their gold or other precious metal items. If you need some extra money and think that recycling your jewelry might be something you'd be interested in, there are some things you should consider. First, use a company who will give you a fair price with the option of getting your jewelry back should you decide not to take their offer. Also make sure that you work with a company that is a member of the Better Business Bureau and a recognized industry organization . Check Dollars4Gold.com to help ensure you get the best offer.
SO GUY'S what are we waiting for.. Let's check our safety box... and have some cash for Christmas shopping.

Feeding the Hungry in Indonesia
old ricksaw driver barely earns enough income to provide cassava and sweet potatoes for his family, much less rice, sugar or bread.
"Sometimes in a day I don't have any customers, because there are so many rickshaw drivers," Kartoyo said. In addition, a struggling economy and high gas prices have put a strain on finding work and making a profit.
"The impact of the rise in oil prices has made the burden of life heavier for poor people," said Noldy, a staff member with OB Indonesia.
OB Indonesia is planning to distribute 40,000 family food packages for impoverished people in the region by the end of this year.
To help Kartoyo and others like him, OB Indonesia is planning to distribute 40,000 family food packages for impoverished people in the region by the end of this year.
Yogyakarta has the second-smallest area of the provinces in Indonesia, after the Jakarta region. However, despite its small size, it has one of the highest populations of the nation.
Hypermart, a local grocery superstore in Indonesia, gave OBI a voucher valued at more than $10,000 USD to help purchase the food and supplies. So far, teams have distributed 1,333 food packages. Each packet contains enough rice, sugar, coconut oil, instant noodles, a package of biscuits and ketchup to feed a family of four.
"I am very happy to get this family package," Kartoyo said. "Rice and vegetables are so expensive. Thanks for the support."
There are still more than 38,000 packages left to be distributed before the end of the year. OBI teams are headed to Jabodetabek, Central Java, East Java, North Sumatera, South Sumatera and East Nusa Tenggara to hand out the remaining food.
HOW YOU CAN HELP. Every day, the fleet of Hunger Strike Force trucks are on the road, delivering nutritious food and essential supplies to thousands facing hunger and poverty.
