CLOTHED IN BEAUTY

I admit there's a unique beauty in each one of us that truly reflects the glory of our Creator. Yet, everyone of us have a nights wracked with cries of "Lord, why did You make me this way?" I'm constantly amazed how many of us are in bondage to thoughts about being physically unattractive. SOmetimes I asked myself in utter despair, "Why do all men want the ‘Perfect 10?' If you're anything less they won't even look at you." or they will find another one. This is not true. But, just as we clothe ourselves in the physical realm, we put on spiritual "clothing" as well. The Bible describes these "garments" as being attitudes of praise, righteousness, joy, love, wisdom, etc. People really do sense what we "wear" spiritually, and respond to it. If we choose to wear rags of rejection, bitterness, inferiority, negativity or defensiveness, they respond to that, too. Listen to a description of what Christ's bride will wear to meet her King! "The king is enthralled by your beauty...All glorious is the princess within...her gown is interwoven with gold. In embroidered garments she is led to the king...They are led in with joy and gladness...There is no such thing as an ugly person – only ugly thoughts. Let others see Jesus in your eyes and God's love in your heart, and they will soon be saying, "How did God make you this way?"...
So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.
